Those Most Affected by Conflict Must Lead Its Resolution
In Somalia, young people make up over 70% of the population and women bear a disproportionate burden of conflict's consequences. Yet both groups are systematically excluded from the decisions that shape their futures.
PAN rejects this exclusion. Our youth and women programs are not add-ons, they are central to our peacebuilding strategy, because we know that peace built without the active agency of women and youth is not sustainable.
From training female peace mediators to funding youth-led dialogue, every program is designed to shift power towards those who have the most at stake in a peaceful Somalia.
Our Programs
Education & Skills Training
Vocational training, digital literacy, and livelihood skills programs that equip young Somalis with the tools to build economic independence and resist radicalisation.
Women in Peacebuilding
Structured inclusion of women in local peace committees, dialogue processes, and governance structures because no sustainable peace is built without women at the table.
Youth Peace Ambassadors
Training young leaders as community peace ambassadors who facilitate peer dialogues, mediate local disputes, and model non-violent conflict resolution.
Women's Health & Protection
Safe spaces, psychosocial support, GBV response services, and maternal health programming that protects and restores dignity for women in crisis-affected areas.
Youth Civic Engagement
Platforms for young people to participate in community governance, advocate for their rights, and engage constructively with security and political actors.
Women's Economic Empowerment
Savings groups, micro-enterprise support, and market access programs that build women's economic agency and reduce dependency in post-conflict settings.
